ALAP, a Klaytn-based PFP NFT collection, partnered with GQ Korea and Vogue Korea to showcase ALAP U NFTs virtual fashion show in Seoul Wave Art Center on the 25th of August. This is the first NFT debut fashion show to ever happen in South Korea.

NFTs or non-fungible tokens are slowly making their way into the mainstream fashion industry. The new technology has enabled many fashion brands to experiment and showcase their work in the form of digital assets that people can own with proof of ownership.
Nike launched virtual sneakers that sold out within minutes of the NFT drop, Bulgari recently announced a partnership with Zepeto to showcase its brand clothes and accessories in the metaverse, Tag Heuer launched NFT-compatible smartwatches and many other fashion brands have also dropped NFTs featuring their clothes, accessories, and footwear with exclusive benefits for the holders.
In South Korea, the popularity of NFTs, metaverse, and Web3 has been surging. The country is already known for its technological advancements and many international conferences have been held in various cities within Korea.
For the first time, an NFT fashion show was held in collaboration with two well-known international brands, GQ and Vogue for ALAP U attended by various local celebrities including Singer Lee Dong-hwi, Actress Kim Min-ha, Model Jang Yoon-ju, and Kpop Idol Jeon So-mi.
What is the ALAP U NFT collection?
ALAP U is a Klaytn-based PFP NFT collection featuring 10,000 collectibles of no-face avatars wearing fashionable clothes and accessories. This is the first South Korean-made NFT collection that aims to introduce a new form of digital technology to the citizens.
With the slogan of “All Lives Are Palettes,” ALAP U NFTs are expressionless or have no moods, everyone has the same look but they are the only one in the world like us. The NFTs are designed with the concept of “The more time I spend with ALAP U, the more ALAP U is dyed with my own color.”
ALAP Palette has a wide range of seasonal collections that change every season from which owners can pick their own color to suit their 3D ALAP U.

The ALAP U Palette can be designed by anyone, and the team would select the best designers every year to feature their creations as part of their seasonal collections. In other words, ALAP is aiming to create an IP character giving creators and designers the freedom to showcase their own talent via these NFTs.
This is similar to how the Sandbox enables people to become creators and design items to sell to other players. In ALAP, the designers are the main characters who will define the future of digital fashion through ALAP U NFTs.
These NFTs’ rarities range from Legend, Epic, Unique, Rare, to Classic. With Legend being the rarest of all ALAP U NFTs.
Once you own an NFT, you can paint your ALAP however you want from the ALAP Palette that will open for NFT holders in September this year.
This is a very long-term project that only began this month with the private and public mint for NFTs on August 17 and 18, 2022.
The first pre-sale private mint was held via a confirmed Whitelist for ALAP 2D NFT holders on August 17 at 8:00 PM KST until August 18 at 6:50 PM KST. The holders were required to pay 300 Klay per mint per wallet.
The second pre-sale private mint was allowed via a competitive Whitelist for ALAP 2D NFT and Moksha NFT holders of the remaining ALAP U NFTs on August 18 from 9:00 PM KST until 9:50 PM KST for 350 Klay per mint per wallet.
