Argentina is the ultimate champion of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. However, despite the dramatic showdown with France that exceeded the time limit to shoot out penalties and led to the win of Lionel Messi and his teammates, the Fan Token $ARG failed to climb up.
Along with NFTs, fan tokens have become quite common in the sports industry. The Argentine Football Association also introduced its own token on Socios.com that would enable fans to join the global community, connect with the team, access VIP experiences, and even participate in decision-making in the organization.
$ARG started off with a good year as people bought the fan token; its price peaked at $8 in November. But when Argentina lost against Saudi Arabia, the rates dropped drastically to the lowest lows. The team did advance into finals, but the token remained in a bearish pattern.
Many investors believed $ARG would climb up once they win the FIFA World Cup. The prices again climbed to $7 the day before the match. However, the legendary win wasn’t enough to push the token up and it dropped 52% to $2 in the last 24 hours.
This raises the question of whether the world is ready for fan tokens. Football fans are always ready to spend hundreds of dollars on NFTs and other collectibles but they seem not interested in these fan tokens.
Will the $ARG ever climb up or will the Argentine Football Association abandon the fan token altogether since it’s not giving them any profit at all?
