Aventis Graduate School, Singapore announces $1M worth of ASEAN Scholarship for Smobler Studio’s ‘Metaverse for Good’ initiative on The Sandbox metaverse platform. The awarded adult students will get a chance to study and build a better profession in Web3.
The Sandbox along with the COO and co-founder Sebastien Borget has been taking important initiatives to promote metaverse opportunities to the general public.
Recently, the metaverse brand partnered with the award-winning graduate school, Aventis, and Smobler Studios, a metaverse architecture firm, to educate Singaporeans and ASEAN citizens about the new technology.
The ASEAN is an association of Southeast Asian countries that have been taking great steps to improve their economic structures by introducing digital technology like Web3 to the citizens. Countries like Vietnam are leading in the metaverse space but the professionals still lack adequate skills to build careers in this new technology.
Smobler Studios launches ‘Metaverse for Good’
For this very reason, Smobler Studios’ founders Dr. Loretta Chen and Ruel Sarmiento launched the ‘Metaverse for Good’ initiative that matches the firm’s objective of “inclusion, diversity, equity, accessibility, leadership and sustainability.” This initiative invites NGOs, brands, and companies who dedicate to the cause and charity as well.
On this occasion, Aventis announced they will be granting a $1M scholarship to worthy students in ASEAN countries except for Singapore. These can be adult learners or professionals who are looking for job or career opportunities in the Web3 space.
The plan will take place on The Sandbox metaverse platform. Octava Foundation, an organization that works on the empowerment of kids and young people from underprivileged backgrounds in Singapore, has purchased a 12 X 12 LAND digital real estate rent-free for up to a year that will be developed by Smobler Studios.
According to the official press release, the candidates for the scholarship will be picked on fixed criteria. The school will judge based on each candidate’s “academic and professional background, overall potential, and financial need.”
“We are dedicated to providing quality executive education to working professionals across the ASEAN region and want to use this scholarship to build deeper connections and engagement with our learners across ASEAN,” said Samuel Teo at Aventis.
On the occasion, Sebastien also shared his thoughts on the scholarship launch, “The metaverse promises a major disruption in how we will interact, communicate, play, learn, and earn,” he said in a press release. “…we are thrilled to see Aventis step in with this generous scholarship support, positioning ASEAN at the forefront of innovation.”
Aventis also announced the launch of The Sandbox Academy Singapore which will enable students to build, create, and monetize their talent in the metaverse space.
