The ultimate fighting championship (UFC) fighter, Matheus Nicolau, has tweeted. That he has received his first salary in the largest cryptocurrency, bitcoin(BTC). Through a deal facilitated by the Bitwage payroll and HR services.
Matheus Nicolau is a Brazilian fighter and a recent well-known athlete. He successfully marked his name as eighth positioned UFC fly fighter.
According to the sportsman, embracing his salary in bitcoin was to secure his earnings and add value to his hard work. Also, he said that bitcoin arrives faster as compared to traditional money.
And concluded that bitcoin is the safest asset one can have, as well as it gives liberty to its owners. Also, Nicolau shared some facts about his life as a sportsman. He stated that the sportsmen or athletes’ career is very short. And that is why our priority is to secure our money for our future life.
In addition to this, he shared his sentiments before receiving his salary in bitcoin. He was afraid and not feeling secure.
But after receiving it, he said that he is quite satisfied with the well-known digital currency bitcoin.
He is also amongst the first Latin American athletes who have received his salary in bitcoin and the second UFC fighter who has been paid in bitcoin salary. Earlier in January, UFC heavy fighter Francis Ngannou declared that he would receive half of his UF270 price purse in bitcoin through the Cash App.
