Illuvium CEO Kieran Warwick says Illuvium belongs to a new game genre called Interoperable Blockchain Game or IBG. He also said that the BETA version of Illuvium will be going live by the end of this year.
“Illuvium Universe aims to become a Web3 gaming ecosystem with an IP, having its own merchandise, Netflix series, and more,” says Warwick.
This game has brought a lot of attention from the gamer ever since the trailer came out, and almost 1.8M people have signed up to play the game, even though the game isn’t properly out yet.
According to Warwick, the crypto games have a total of 2-3 million active users and around ⅓ of those users are interested in Illuvium, which is a big achievement for the team. He recognizes the worth of the gaming industry is much more than predicted because, despite the bear market, crypto games are still going mainstream.
Illuvium has been getting so much attention from the global audience. The secret to its pre-success is the team’s realistic views when it comes to crypto game adoption. Warwick says his team didn’t try to promote its product in the mainstream and has no greed to compete against the big crypto games like Axie Infinity.
But that doesn’t mean they won’t take on the challenge of competing with other crypto games at all. However, in the beta version, they are solely looking for feedback, so they can confidently grab the market share when the game is officially launched.
So far, 480,000 people have signed up for the beta test version but the team only picked 30,000 users because they want to scrutinize the feedback for better results when the game is officially out, says Warwick.
The company seems to be aiming for organic growth in the capability and authenticity of Illuvium as a brand. After all, their ultimate vision is to become an IP, and for that to happen, they need to establish themselves in the Web gaming industry first.
When discussing Illuvium’s genre and background, Warwick says it’s a mash of three genres, collection-based, builder, and “skillful competitive esporting game” into a new genre called the Interoperable Blockchain Game.
The best thing about this genre is it offers players the ability to battle and own digital assets that can be moved around in future games if the team decides to make any.
So, Illuvium is basically a utility-based shared IP brand built on a play-to-earn model. The game is expected to bring more non-crypto users in because of its unique genre and the potential it holds for both players and creators.
Final words
Illuvium is one of the leading games on Immutable X blockchain that integrate the true vision of Web3 and decentralization. By combining NFTs with the advanced level of a game structure inspired by the traditional gaming industry and cryptocurrency, Illuvium Universe will definitely grow in the coming years.
But before that, the BETA version will be going live soon with selected users!
