Google Pay And  Apple Pay have blocked their support for some Russian banks sanctioned on the war in Ukraine. That means that customers linked to the Russian banks that sanctioned can not use the services of Google Pay, and Apple Pay.

Google Pay And Apple Pay

As per reports, on the first day of the Russia Ukraine war, the Russians has made a record-breaking withdrawal of nearly $1.3 billion. That is equal to 111.3 Russian native currency.  This is the massive withdrawal of money since the arrival of the outbreak of covid-19.

After the start of the Russian and Ukraine war. The United States of America sanctioned some Russian banks. As well as some major financial services, such as Google Pay, and apple pay.  Also declared that they will not support their services to the sanctioned banks.

Which Banks Have Been Listed As Sanctioned Banks?

On Friday the central bank of Russia has stated that the united states of America listed  VTB,  Sovcombank, Otkritie, Novikombank, and Promsvyazbank as sanctioned banks.

Furthermore, The Russian central bank stated. That the credit and debit cardholders of these sanctioned banks will not be able to use the services of google pay, and Apple Pay. However, contact and contactless payments will be available throughout Russia.

The statement further reported. That the customers of the sanctioned banks will be unable to pay for the online products and goods from the countries, that support these sanctions.

Moreover, On Wednesday, Apple has eliminated its mobile apps from sanctioned  Promsvyaz bank. With a least three applications being eliminated from the apple app store. As well, Google has suspended the bank’s app from its google app store.

Final Thoughts:

The Google Pay, and Apple Pay services blockage to sanctioned Russian banks arrived after the Ukraine and Russia War.  Additionally, Russians could experience more sanctions from the authorities and financial entities of other countries.

But, within Russia, the Russians can avail all the financial services from Russian banks. And all the transactions and transfers through cards are available in  Russia. Without any exceptional rules or limitations.
