Google is incorporating Blockchain through its Google Play platform for users. According to Google’s group product manager Joseph Mills, the company has amended its mobile software marketplace policy to permit application developers to incorporate digital assets like NFTs into their games via the Google Play app store.

We’re happy to announce that we’re revising our policy to make it possible to buy and sell blockchain-based digital content in Google Play apps and games in new ways, according to Mills.
Google Play will soon consult with “industry partners” about enhancing its support for “blockchain-based app experiences, including in areas such as secondary markets,” Mills says.
The announcement comes as Google seems to be growing its market share in the web3 sector. The past year has seen agreements with Google Cloud and Polygon, Solana, Near Protocol, and Hedera.
