Sharjah is a city in the United Arab Emirates rich with heritage culture and technological advancements. One of the greatest locations of this radiant city is the Rain Room which is a must-go place for all NFT digital artists.
A special project of the Sharjah Art Foundation, Rain Room is the first immersive space in the Middle East, located in Al Majarrah, Sharjah. The exhibit was presented by Random International 2012 and is now permanently installed for tourists to experience it.
The Rain Room is basically a space where visitors can experience rain without getting wet. The room creates a real-life rain environment in a dark underground space where the system automatically detects human presence and stops the water wherever they walk.
The rain poured inside the Rain Room uses 2,500 liters of self-cleaning recycled water, controlled via a 3D tracking cameras networking system.
For artists, it’s a great place to gain inspiration about human relationships with nature and how our natural ecosystem is deeply involved with our lifestyles. Something as simple as rain could be a source of empowerment and energy for anyone who visits this room.
Rain Room also showcases the future of digital art that could integrate real-life experiences, metaverse technology, and the natural environment as a futuristic concept. The artists can get a chance to explore this unique project and create their own artworks inspired by it.
So, if you ever get a chance to visit Sharjah, don’t forget to experience the Rain Room yourself.
