An exciting opportunity for underground artists as Mastercard takes a big step into the music world by launching an Artist Accelerator program in Web3 in partnership with Polygon for the first time.
The artists will get a chance to learn how to create, mint NFTs, and promote their work in the community using blockchain technology mentors and experts.
The Mastercard Artist Accelerator will pick 5 underground musicians, musicians, DJs, producers, etc., giving them a chance to explore their
“musical paths in the digital economy.”
The program is set to launch in Spring 2023 where musicians will get a chance to hold special events, music releases, etc.
Along with the artists, the fans will also be joining the program to learn about Web3 and how they could build their careers in the digital economy using the Polygon blockchain.
The company will launch Mastercard Music Pass, a time-limited NFT token, for fan holders to access Web3 x music educational materials, tools via collaborations, and Priceless experiences in the Metaverse and the real world.
“Our vision is to bridge passion and purpose, spotlighting amazing emerging artists and creating an interactive community that allows participants to learn, experiment and grow together,” Raja Rajamannar, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Mastercard.
Mastercard is taking a unique approach when it comes to promoting Web3 adoption by educating the masses with blockchain technology and tools. Its special one-of-a-kind curriculum will help singers and DJs navigate through the blockchain and have first-hand experience working within it.
The Accelerator program website is already launched and people can sign up to get the latest updates on musicians. A livestreamed artist showcase is set to take place in 2023 as well.
Overall, Mastercard has been looking for opportunities to enter the blockchain industry. Just recently, Hi debuted a special Debit Mastercard with customized NFT Avatars for holders.
