Jeffrey Delano Davis, a multimedia artist, dedicates his personally written digital poetry “Decentralized” NFT to his wife. The poem uses Web3 as a metaphor for “intimacy and consciousness”; this is the first time a poem has been written using blockchain technology.
The decentralized world is slowly expanding as many artists, creators, and developers experiment with different possibilities with it. This time an artist wanted to dedicate a poem in a more interactive way to his wife.

“I wanted the poem’s form to reflect the subject of the poem. The approach is disparate because consciousness is disparate and vast,” Davis said.
‘Decentralized’: a texgital NFT
According to the official website, there are two parts of the Decentralized poem: Textual and Digital. The textual part is obviously the written poem itself while the digital part comprises 4 decentralized artworks inspired by the verses, 2 digital writing microfilms, one AI digital art, and a gif that can be combined together to create a multimedia poem.
Each digital piece has one verse of the poem in a unique form as mentioned above, making it look much more special and sophisticated than a simple poem.
The poem begins with:
I like to think
my mind is decentralized
like yours
vast, open, spacious, benign.
And ends with:
Either way,
I will find you
in the metaverse
beyond death
my love.
In digital forms, Davis has expressed the emotions of poems through various concepts of art. He gained inspiration from his experience with Buddhism to understand consciousness and combined his own concept of love and intimacy with the metaverse.
It is a new concept that creators and storytellers can appreciate for inspiration. You can buy the various digital forms of the poem as NFTs from here.
