Web3 is an actively growing industry around the world. Many gaming platforms, startups, and Web2 companies are slowly transitioning to adopt blockchain technology.
Blockchain Game Alliance is one of the leading non-profit organizations dedicated to promoting blockchain to the gaming community. The members work together to improve their projects and contribute to the development of Web3.
When it comes to the Web3 gaming industry, a lot of projects are bringing new innovative ecosystems onboard. Blue Sky Interactive, EOS Network Foundation, Pacific Meta, and Fruitlab have been contributing to expanding the space.
Blue Sky Interactive’s Last Resort: A Web3 Survival Game
CEO Matthieu shares that he founded Blue Sky Interactive to target the Web3 market specifically. “We wanted to explore new mechanics through the company,” he said.
Having 10 years of experience in video game development, he and his team are currently building a multiplayer survival game called Last Resort. Matthieu explained that the game is cross-platform with free-to-play mechanics.
Since survival games are one of the most popular genres, he believes this game can attract players to not only play but also understand Web3 technology.
Last Resort utilizes two business monetization models for 2 audiences. One is through the Freemium offers, which are similar to any Web2 game while the other is NFT ownership, in which the users pay using crypto and own assets in a wallet.
Blue Sky Interactive is motivated to launch the game fully and create a unique gaming experience that combines Web3 technology with the excitement of a survival game.
NFTStudio24: Role of Media and Education in Web3
NFTStudio24 believes that the future of gaming lies in the integration of blockchain technology. They are providing their audience with the most up-to-date and insightful coverage of the Web3 gaming industry through various forms of content.
“Japan market holds big potential for gaming because it ranks #3 in terms of the highest revenue generating industry. The Web3 games can easily join the Japan market with some help,” Hinza said in her presentation.
She points out the advantages of joining the Japanese market, which include strict regulations and infinite opportunities for Web3 platforms. Compared to other countries, Japan’s Government is highly involved with Web3, making it a perfect market to target.
One of the biggest examples is Astar Network Japan Lab, an organization backed by the government. All the big Web3 companies are registered within this network, allowing them to expand better. NFTStudio24 is a member of this organization to promote Web3 and Metaverse to the global community.
In fact, NFTStudo24 has its own Global Web3 Community and an Expert Alliance community whose members include The Sandbox co-founder Sebastien Borget, Unstoppable Domains SVP Sandy Carter, Rektguy creator OSF, Lunar Strategy CEO Tim Haldorsson, and many more.
The platform offers members public relation services and also collaborate to work on different projects in order to promote Web3 around the world.
Among many projects, NFTStudio24 has initiated the “Metaverse for All” campaign in which the media platform partners with different universities to introduce Web3 and Metaverse.
Hinza says that young people need to be educated to fully adopt this new technology.
So far, NFTStudio24 has already signed MOUs with 11 institutes in India, 25 institutes in Pakistan, and 9 institutes in Singapore to offer The Sandbox Academy courses to young students. Hinza shares they’re working on expanding their campaign in Nigeria, North Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.
EOS Network Foundation: Promoting EOS Blockchain
COO Zack introduces EOS Network Foundation as a community-led non-profit organization that aims to support and promote the development of EOS.
EOS Network is a layer1 blockchain that was first developed in 2018 by a company but was later picked up by community member co-founder Yves La Rose and Zack in 2021.
When it comes to development, Zack shares “we believe GameFi will lead the next innovation in blockchain.”
He said that the EOS network is a perfect blockchain to build gaming projects on as it is reliable and more secure compared to other big networks including Solana and Polygon.
EOS Network Foundation aims to onboard projects and also facilitate developers through funding programs and other opportunities. The organization has been working hard to advance its technology for GameFi and other decentralized applications.
Pacific Meta: Web3 Games in Japan
BGA Member Pacific Meta is also a new addition to the community that aims to connect the International market with Japan by providing marketing services.
The company mainly helps games establish their product in the Japanese market. It also has its own Japan blockchain media presence in the industry.
Kousei shares that Pacific Meta aims to establish a strong market for web3 games by localizing them for Japanese users and then bringing awareness through education through various channels.
Fruitlab: Social and Gaming Web3 Ecosystem
Fruitlab is building a gaming Web3 ecosystem for players and creators using blockchain technology. COO Matthias shares that the initial idea was to share advertising revenues with the audience that is targeted for the ads.
The unique platform enabled content creators to make money on every view instead of having to have thousands of subscribers.
Fruitlab eventually expanded more than just a video content platform to cater to gamers and gaming ecosystems. “We saw how fragmented the gaming landscapes have become, and opportunities that lie in Web3 and blockchain,” Matthias added
Fruitlab’s integrated gaming ecosystem is powered by PIP, the native token, to combine content, play-to-earn mechanism, social media, and esports together in one place. The platform has been quite successful as it recorded 70,000 – 80,000 users in 2022.
All in all, Fruitlab is building an ecosystem that includes both Social and Gaming aspects.
