Food Fighters Universe announces a collaboration with Snoop Dogg to open a dessert-centric restaurant themed around his Bored Ape called Dr. Bombay’s Sweet Exploration. This will be Snoop Dogg’s second restaurant, but this time it’s inspired by his NFT.
American superstar and famous rapper, Snoop Dogg who has widely made his name in almost every industry are one of the pioneering celebrities to buy NFTs. Snoop Dogg jumped on the bandwagon of the digital collectible craze and has been working with various NFT brands to drop his own collection. Recently, he partnered with the Cardano-based NFT Baked Nation project and dropped unreleased tracks for holders.
Similarly, he regularly buys NFTs from different projects. Snoop Dogg claims to own some of the most expensive NFTs like Bored Ape Yacht Club, CryptoPunks, Art Blocks, and XCOPY under the pseudonym of Cozomo de’ Medici.
Along with him, many of his fans have also been involved with NFTs. Seeing their favorite American rapper doing collaborations with NFT brands gives them the opportunity to interact and buy valuable digital assets that hold meaning for the superstar.
Food Fighters Universe drops a trailer with Snoop Dogg
Food Fighters Universe decided to partner with Snoop Dogg to open a dessert-centric restaurant in Los Angeles inspired by Snoop Dogg’s Dr. Bombay Bored Ape #6723 NFT called Dr. Bombay’s Sweet Exploration.
Snoop Dogg bought this Bored Ape as a part of this collection and has released various MDs based on the NFT. Since NFTs are based on proof of ownership, anyone buying an NFT has legal rights to do whatever they want with it.
The Food Fighters Universe officially tweeted about the partnership by dropping a video of Snoop Dogg saying, “Big Snoop Dogg, Dr. Bombay, and Food Fighters, you heard it first, now go tell them!”
Dr. Bombay is a Bored Ape NFT named by Snoop Dogg. Being one of the most popular collections with unique 10,000 NFTs, Bored Ape Yacht Club has undoubtedly made its name in the mainstream media. Many celebrities have bought Bored Ape NFTs making them quite valuable to the fans.
On the other hand, Food Fighters Universe is a well-known LA eatery brand that recently opened Bored & Hungry, a food joint inspired by BAYC and MAYC NFTs owned by the startup founders, Andy Nguyen, Kevin Seo, and Phillip Huynh. It has its own FUU community on the Ethereum blockchain that enables NFT holders to get IRL perks and event access.
The collaboration with Snoop Dogg holds a special meaning for the brand as it is inspired by his NFT and will probably attract millions of fans around the world to visit the place. The dessert will feature Dr. Bombay-themed merchandise and desserts that visitors can enjoy while they listen to their favorite rapper’s music. It is truly heaven for Snoop Dogg’s fans.
Dr. Bombay’s Sweet Exploration will serve customers with “an immersive retail dessert experience” powered by Bored Ape NFT. Individuals who collect digital collectibles will be thrilled to see an IRL experience of a Bored Ape and can also buy merchandise based on it.
In a statement, the Food Fighters Universe co-founder Nguyen expressed his excitement for this project and said “This is the first of many concepts to come from our Web3 restaurant group, and we couldn’t ask for better partners than Dr. Bombay and Champ Medici.”
Champ Medici or Cordell Broadus is Snoop Dogg’s son who is also deeply involved with NFTs. Like his father, Broadus has also worked with various NFT projects. For this project, he expressed anticipation to see the final product. He said “I saw what they did with Bored & Hungry in Long Beach, and I said, ‘We need to work with these guys.’”
He also shared behind-the-scenes of how this partnership came into being by saying: “Without even knowing them personally, I came down and spoke at their grand opening in April because I believed in it so much. Food Fighters Universe is bridging food and Web3 and blazing a trail with real-life utility for NFTs. It’s the future of the restaurant industry, and my dad and I are thrilled to join the team and utilize their expertise to bring Dr. Bombay to life.”
Champ Medici is also a partner in this project.
Dr. Bombay’s Sweet Exploration is not associated with Yuga Labs
Following the announcement of Snoop Dog’s NFT-based restaurant, many people thought it was an official project by Yuga Labs, but they are wrong. The BYC creator company is in no way involved with this dessert restaurant.
NFT owners have rights to whatever they want without the approval of creators. This not only saves companies from scandal but also opens doors for owners to showcase their NFTs in real life.
Final words
As of now, nothing has been revealed about Dr. Bombay’s Sweet Exploration restaurant. The only details we know is that it will be established in Los Angeles, other than that, there is no timeline or artwork dropped by the company.
As a famous American rapper with millions of global fans, this restaurant might take off quite well once it is launched. It will also attract many NFT holders to visit the place and experience the futuristic dessert restaurant.
Another thing to note is that this restaurant might kickstart a new era where NFTs will become a brand image or logo for businesses to make digital collectible and cryptocurrency mainstream. The digital currency which is only used in a few places as a mode of payment might become common in restaurants and other retail shops in the near future.
