AfterPay, an Australian-based company that lets users buy items and pay later in installments, partnered with IMG, an entertainment company to debut NFT “Keys” at the New York Fashion Week.
The NFT Keys are designed by 5 different designers, Jonathan Simkhai, Joseph Altuzarra, Kim Shui, AnOnlyChild, and The Blonds signed under IMG as phygital assets for the holders.
Each NFT Key comes with a special benefit based on the designer. If someone buys NFT Key by The Blonds, they will be invited to The Blonds’ NYFW after-party or a signed copy of its upcoming book.
Similarly, other designers have also added exclusive benefits under the AfterPay x IMG partnership featuring New York Fashion Week.
The NFT Keys are released on the Polygon network, widely known for being a scaling solution provider and environment-friendly.
According to the official press release, all the earnings of the NFT Keys will be donated to Free Arts NYC, a children’s art mentoring program for underserved communities in New York City.
The AfterPay also released limited edition NFTs with benefits like a TIDAL HiFi Plus 6 Month Free Trial, access to an NYFW close-friends Instagram group, and an invite to NYFW events.
Each designer-made Spring/Summer ’23 collection themed-NFT retailed for $100 and AfterPay allowed the “Buy First Pay Later” payment method in four installments without any interest to buyers.
With the launch of the NFT Keys, AfterPay is officially entering the world of NFTs and metaverse this year. Users can expect more partnerships in the NFT space after its first-ever NFT drop.
