Barbie x  Boss Beauties to debut one-of-a-kind NFT portraits

Barbie is finally entering the NFT space in partnership with Boss Beauties, a project backed by Serena Ventures, to debut a one-of-a-kind 1,500 NFT collection featuring Barbie’s 250 careers.

Mattel, the brand behind Barbie, is now celebrating its 60+ years of success as a global doll brand by commemorating Barbie’s careers with Boss Beauties with new appearances never seen before.

This isn’t the first time Barbie dropped NFTs. Previously, Mattle released a collaborative project between Barbie x Balmain collection for adults with NFTs that were sold through an online auction.

Now, the doll brand is taking an independent step to launch its own NFTs officially. The collection will feature 1,500 artworks inspired by 250 careers that have existed since 1959.

Lisa McKnight, The Exec VP of Barbie & Dolls, shares that the brand is excited to partner with Boss Beauties “which celebrates our shared passion to champion the next generation of female leaders.”

“Barbie is the original girl empowerment brand. From CEO to chef to scientist, we’ve been reminding girls everywhere that they can be anything for the past six decades,” she said.

“This collection of digital art perfectly connects the two brands through Barbie’s signature style and Boss Beauties looks,” says Lisa Mayer, CEO of Boss Beauties.

Both companies also shared they will be donating $250,000 from the NFT earnings to the 250 careers featured in the collection.

One-half will go to Barbie's Dream Gap Project and the other half will go to Boss Beauties Foundation; both organizations are working towards the empowerment of young girls and women.

As of now, no release date has been announced for the upcoming Barbie x Boss Beauties collection.
