decentraland announces theme for Metaverse Art Week this year

Decentraland, a global metaverse platform, announced Metaverse Art Week will be held on August 24-28, 2022. The theme for this year’s grand art event is called The World is Made of Code, a micro AI art exhibition.

Metaverse Art Week will feature works of some of the world-renowned artists and platforms in Web3. The artwork will showcase human emotions and relationships in the form of mathematical signs and programmatic art.

This event is to highlight how metaverse technology is changing the art world and overall society through immersive experiences. It celebrates diversity, innovation, and creativity within digital art and design.

“This year’s Art Week will be a love letter to what the next generation of artists are doing in the metaverse,”  said the Decentraland Foundation’s Creative Director, Sam Hamilton.

The theme for this year’s event, the press release explains,  “Like the patterns, sequences, and formulas that make up the natural world, code is elemental in a virtual world like Decentraland,”

The artworks from Metaverse Art Week will be displayed in art neighborhoods within Decentaland metaverse.  The event will also include an Audio Art Tour of all the creations.

Some of the participating platforms and creators include:

– Artnet – Sotheby’s – UXart Lab – Burton Morris – Damien Hirst – Justin Aversano – Krista Kim – Bryan Brinkman – IX Shells And many more.

The event will be divided for each art platform so that they can present their artists’ works on the metaverse and people can easily find pieces by their favorite creators.
