FC Barcelona to debut its first NFT masterpiece next week

FC Barcelona,  a world-renowned football club, is debuting its first-ever NFT masterpiece in the history of the club. In a Way, Immortal NFT is a digital audiovisual artwork inspired by Johan Cruyff’s legendary goal on 22 December 1973. The 40-second film NFT will be sold as a one-of-one animated edition via auction at Sotheby's New York.

FC Barcelona is honoring the most celebrated event in the history of the club by launching an NFT featuring Johan Cruyff. According to the official announcement, the club partnered with BCN Visual to recreate an NFT masterpiece that defined FC Barcelona’s brand to the world.

“NFTs have too quickly become associated with the explosion in demand for crypto, but with In a Way, Immortal we are bringing NFTs back into the realm of high art,”  says Eric Sas, Founder of BCN Visuals.

In a Way, Immortal NFT was created with The World of Cruff to design the perfect audiovisual of the flying kick goal. The NFT masterpiece will feature a one-of-one animated edition and four still images as digital collectibles sold through an auction.  “The buyer of this unique artwork will also be gifted a number of VIP Club-based benefits and experiences and will be named a Barça Digital Ambassador.”  says the official statement.

The online bid will begin on July 21 following the auction will go live on July 29 at Sotheby's New York. The buyer has the option to either pay using the cryptocurrency or fiat currency.
