FIFA x Algorand

to launch NFT platform on FIFA+

FIFA partners with Algorand blockchain to launch an exclusive NFT platform called FIFA+ Collect on FIFA+ for football fans this month ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.

FIFA+ Collect is coming and football fans are ready to collect their favorite moments from the FIFA World Cup™ and FIFA Women’s World Cup™ featuring art and imagery. Fans can now own these moments.

“Fandom is changing and football fans around the world engage with the game in new and exciting ways,”

said FIFA Chief Business Officer Romy Gai.

FIFA+ Collect democratizes the ability to own a moment from the FIFA World Cup and enjoy the exclusive benefits related to football entertainment for fans. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

FIFA+ Collect on FIFA+ will feature “a range of initial collections and details of upcoming exclusive and limited-edition collections to be released soon,” the statement reads.

The NFT platform will be launched on the Alogorand blockchain, a decentralized, scalable, secure, and environment-friendly network. It will be rivaling the NBA Top Shot marketplace for sports.

Football fans are widely known for being collectors, so this NFT platform will be a success for sure. Previously, FC Barcelona released its first NFT which sold out for $693,000.

As the World cup unfolds starting this November, the golden moments might also be turned into digital collectibles for fans to collect and remember, including the last goal of the finale!

With FIFA+ Collect, football fans will get a chance to own NFTs of their favorite players and be part of a larger inclusive community. This NFT platform drops in September 2022.
