Fortnite creators, Epic Games, have launched the first free-to-play multiplayer NFT game, Blankos Block Party, co-createdby Mythical Games and Third Kind Games, on its marketplace.
Mythical Games had previously announced it would list the first NFT game on the Epic Games store in June but it was still unknown since GALA Games had also wanted to list GRIT as the first Web3 game.
Now, Blankos Block Party is the first Web3 NFT-based where players can buy vinyl-inspired collectibles called Blankos as NFTs to play. These can be upgraded and sold in the market as well.
Blankos NFTs can be virtual avatar designs and accessories that are distinct from one another. Since it is a free-to-play game, the ownership of NFTs is not required to play the game.
Blankos Block Party has also partnered with fashion brands and artists such as Burberry and musician Deadmau5 to bring limited edition NFTs for fans to buy and own if they want to.
