GameStop’s NFT marketplace goes live on July 11, 2022.

The famous American video game distributor previously announced it will be expanding into the digital market following the GameStop Wallet launch in May 2022, now the NFT marketplace is here for users to enjoy video gaming with NFTs.

GameStop partnered with Immutable X, a layer 2 blockchain to launch its beta version of the NFT marketplace in June 2022 and announced it will officially launch by the end of July. Finally, on Monday, GameStop released the NFT marketplace as a “public beta” to enable users to buy, sell, and trade their favorite NFTs.

The Company’s NFT marketplace is a non-custodial, Ethereum Layer 2-based marketplace that enables parties to truly own their digital assets, which are represented and secured on the blockchain.

The official press release states:

The users can connect their GameStop Wallet on the marketplace and easily buy NFTs on the platform offering high-speed, low-fee, secure transactions.

Following the launch of GameStop NFT Marketplace, the gaming community seems to be divided in opinions. Some believe it will be a complete failure, while others believe it might open doors for Web3 gaming around the world.

The company also announced that it will slowly expand in the Ethereum blockchain by bringing more functionalities to its marketplace. The team also shared they will be partnering with various creators and include more Web3 gaming categories in the near future.

The GameStop NFT marketplace is looking for creators to partner with. If you are a creator, you can apply by filling out the form here:
