PROOF raises $50M, hints at a new Moonbirds NFT collection

PROOF Collective, the team behind Moonbirds NFT, recently announced it raised $50M in a funding round led by a16z. The team also shared that funds will be used for its third Moonbirds NFT collection.

Moonbirds is finally coming back with a new collection called Moonbirds Mythics featuring 20,000 PFP NFTs to be launched in early 2023.

The funding round to make this collection successful was held by PROOF Collective with a16z, participated by 776, True Ventures, VaynerFund, Flamingo DAO, Collab+Currency, and SV Angel.

According to Kevin Rose, CEO of Moonbirds, the third NFT collection’s brand licensing and trademark will be handled by MoonbirdsDAO, a decentralized autonomous Organization for Moonbirds.

The company also hinted at a possible Proof social platform where users can display their NFTs and socialize with like-minded people. PROOF also plans to introduce a token for Moonbirds in 2023.

For all of these plans, PROOF Collective held a funding round participated by many well-known investors, showing the community is very bullish about Moonbirds NFT.

“It’s great to have this vote of confidence from the most respected investors in Web3, as well as capital to keep delivering great products as we mature this business over the long term,” said Rose.

Moonbirds have been making quite progress ever since its launch in May 2022 under the leadership of PROOF Collective, the most well-recognized community of experts led by Rose.

Rose recently declared Moondbirds NFT under C00, which has brought much attention from the creators and artists as well.

With $50M funds collected from investors, Moonbirds' third NFT collection and other future initiatives of 2023 will surely be a global success.
