This Sunday, during the New York Fashion Week 2022, global fashion brand Tommy Hilfiger dropped free NFT mints for attendees at the IRL event in partnership with Rove, a Web3 launchpad app.
Tommy Hilfiger is one of the early adopters of NFTs. The fashion brand previously dropped ‘Tommy Factory’ NFT featuring a moveable Tommy Hilfiger avatar during a fashion show event.
This year too, Tommy Hilfiger did something different. With the help of the Cupcake protocol, attendees could scan the NPC sticker and view the Rove NFT on the walls of the fashion show.
The NPC sticker was attached to the physical items shown at the event and the users could own the NFT if they had a mobile wallet without any knowledge of blockchain technology.
The theme of the fall fashion show by Tommy Hilfiger was “Futuremakers” for its upcoming fall clothing line, which aligns well with the NFTs because Web3 is the future of the internet.
Other than that, Tommy Hilfiger also held the fashion online on the Roblox metaverse platform. So, the people who couldn’t attend the physical show could be there digitally and see the new clothing line.
The event was attended by various game and NFT influencers, along with the famous NFT collector, Gmoney, to experience The Tommy Factory fashion show for the first time since the pandemic.
Tommy Hilfiger also hinted at the possible integration of the brand into the Web3 space soon. This can be good news for crypto users who love buying Tommy Hilfiger’s clothes.
