The announcement of “Otherside” already sparked a frenzy within the Bored Ape community when it was first announced. Ever since the first trailer dropped, everyone has had their eyes on this Apecoin-powered metaverse.
Bored Ape owners were eagerly waiting for the opportunity to test out this groundbreaking game and witness their prized digital avatars in action.
“With the extensive internet playtests, we end up testing almost too many things at once,
“In contrast, with the feedback from one of these sessions, we can go considerably further. That helps us get to the subject that resonates with people more quickly.”
Yuga Labs Chief Creative Officer Michael Figge Stated.
The Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) surged in popularity earlier this year, as the NFT (non-fungible token) craze swept the digital art world. Each Bored Ape is a unique piece of digital art, with its own distinctive traits and features. Owners of these rare apes gained access to a vibrant online community and numerous perks within the Bored Ape universe.
What’s the Game Test About?
The exclusive game test offers Bored Ape owners a glimpse into the remarkable possibilities of the metaverse. By integrating the beloved Bored Apes into a gaming environment, the team behind “Otherside” aims to deepen the sense of ownership and connection between digital art and its owners.
“Earlier today we brought together a small focus group of 40 Voyagers in LA to delve into Otherside for a vibe check.”
Othersidemeta tweeted.
The universe of Otherside wants to be deep and immersive, with its own lore and story. Players can construct in five different areas of the metaverse: the Biogenic Swamp, Chemical Goo, Rainbow Atmos, Cosmic Dream, and Infinite Expanse. Everybody has their own unique history, culture, and riches.
Through quests, events, and interactions with other players and NPCs (non-player characters) users can learn more about the mysteries of the Otherside. Players can gather four different resources from the plots of land in Otherside: Anima, Ore, Shard, and Root. In addition, there are other tools available online.
Otherside offers open data kits (ODKs) that enable developers to access and use Otherside’s data in their own applications, enabling gamers to use their NFTs across many games and platforms. These ODKs are designed for interoperability and composability with other platforms.
Updates for The Otherside, a gamified online experience, have been announced by Yuga Labs. It includes components from a virtual environment as well as a massively multiplayer online role-playing game.
The Legends of the Mara, Kodas, and the famous Otherdeeds NFTs are a few of the most recent improvements to the game.
Players can find allies and reinforcements throughout the metaverse to help them fight the Shattered. (The Shattered” is a dark species posing a threat to the Otherdeeds, Maras, KodaMaras, and Kodas, the other species in the game) It is noteworthy that Yuga Labs has also included the opportunity to recruit allies and reinforcements.
As the NFT and digital art space continue to evolve, the Bored Ape Yacht Club and its latest game test exemplify the potential for innovative and immersive experiences in the metaverse.
By blurring the lines between art, ownership, and interactive entertainment, “Otherside” will undoubtedly solidify the Bored Ape Yacht Club’s position as a pioneer in this rapidly expanding digital landscape.
Yuga Lab raises seed round at a huge $4B Valuation:
As of Tuesday, Yuga Labs, the business behind the expensive monkey JPEGs that many NFT sceptics despise, has raised $450 million from Andreessen Horowitz at a $4 billion value.
Yuga Lab’s presentation comes at a time when other allegedly play-to-earn cryptocurrency games, including Axie Infinity, have come under fire for having what critics claim are unsustainable business structures.
While multimillion-dollar avatars and massive NFT land sales may be unique among today’s games, Yuga is positioning itself to compete with today’s major platforms, such as competitors like Epic Games, Roblox, and Metacafe.
The full scope of Yuga’s monetization plans for their network is still in development, and the founders have yet to determine the timing for a wide public launch.
