Web3 has started influencing the core markets and businesses of the world. With the new regulations across the world to certify the use of Blockchain and NFT technologies, it’s imperative that businesses start to mould with Web3 or they’ll be left behind. Now, with the expansion of Web3, it’s also started influencing the Film and Media Business to the extent that in the coming few years, the Film and Media Business might totally be changed due to Blockchain and Web3 technology.
Effect of Web3 on Film and Media Businesses
A conference was held in Puerto Rico. The conference is termed as the Puerto Rico Blockchain Week Conference which was headed by Rob Nelson. Bob had some interesting questions for Alana Mediavilla, who’s a renowned Director. Alana has been trying to successfully integrate the Film and Media Business with Web3 because she believes it’s the future. According to Alana, Gen Z and Alpha are the most influenced by Blockchain and Web3 and to gather such a big target audience, she needs to think like an entrepreneur and integrate Web3 with the Film Business as soon as she can as this is what the audience demands now.
Gen Z’s approach to Web3 and Film Industry
Alana Mediavilla directed the film ‘Dirty Coin’ that got massive hits in the industry. Alana states that Gen Z’s approach is not the same as Boomers and they prefer the idea of Metaverse and online birth and world much more than others. She stated that Gen Z is not bothered about the terminologies used such as Web2, Web3 or Blockchain, they just know how technology best serves them. Alana believes that for her business to be the next big thing, she can’t stay behind losing a big chunk of the audience.
Rob Nelson’s approach on Web1, Web2, and Web3 for Film & Media Business
Rob Nelson is one of the most profound and knowledgeable candidates when it comes to Web3 and Blockchain. Rob believes that the idea of Web1 and Web2 weren’t realised and people didn’t actually know what Web1 or Web2 is. Moreover, after the emergence of social media channels and platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, people started liking the idea of their own Digital Space. He stated that the world is on the verge of another revolution now and it’s an opportunity for Media Businesses to cash before it’s too late.
Rob and Mediavilla both believe that Blockchain goes much further than mere transactions and profits. Mediavilla states that our audience now wants digital assets and content presented to them alongside the lines of Web3 and Blockchain. Technologies like NFTs are also in effect as they’re moving the Film industry. Furthermore, she suggested that her company is now open to taking payments in crypto and that certain alpha platforms like YouTube will not be the only platforms to dominate in the Film Industry any longer. However, she also stated that her company is not at the direct forefront of changing the entire structure immediately.
