The Simpsons is the longest TV animated Sitcom that has existed for more than a decade now. Having an international fanbase and a strong presence in pop culture, this show has entered the NFT scene giving its supporters a chance to collect limited edition collectibles and enjoy the benefits.
When Disney announced its partnership with VeVe last year, The Simpsons NFT was the first collection to drop officially as part of the Golden Moments series on the app, which sold out within a few hours.
So far, the Disney NFT collection is among the best-selling collectibles in the market, and everyone wants to buy the exclusive The Simpsons collection. What’s all this hype about and why should you buy one of these collectibles, here’s a complete guide to Simpsons NFT:
About The Simpsons
The Simpsons is an American animated sitcom show on Fox that debuted on December 17, 1989, features a family of five members, namely Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie created by Matt Groening. It is one of the oldest shows that uses satire to showcase American life, human nature, society, and entertainment.
So far, the show has won 35 Emmys and 2 Peabody Awards and has aired over 700 episodes, currently available on the Disney+ streaming service.
Since Fox Entertainment comes under The Walt Disney Company, The Simpsons are included with other IP characters already existing in the Disney universe. So, when Disney announced the launch of digital collectibles, this show also became part of the company’s NFT expansion.
What is Simpsons NFT?
The Simpsons NFT collection features Gold-plated figurines of different characters with historical moments. It is part of Disney’s Golden Moments series that honors historical moments, giving fans a chance to collect them all.
The first series consists of the 18,666 Simpsons NFTs in two varieties launched on November 7 2021 at 12 PM PT in a blind box format, which means every NFT was sold in a box that could be opened after the buyer purchased it, so there was no way to know what they pulled.
The first collectible is a classic moment of Homer and Bart strangling each other, and the second is Bart’s skateboard. There were 12,333 Editions of Homer and Bart, labeled as Common while 6,333 Editions of the Skateboard were labeled as Rare. Each for $60 or 60 GEMS, the digital currency of VeVe.

Currently, only two of these editions have been dropped but more are expected to come in the coming years as Disney expands its Web3 endeavors in the metaverse.
