Less trust, more truth is becoming a rallying cry in the fight to protect personal liberty online. Web3 Dominance Intensifies With the Partnership of Opera and Solana. Web 3.0 (also known as a decentralized internet based on true peer-to-peer interaction) is a ray of hope. It will allow individuals to reclaim control of the internet from the current generation of internet behemoths.
Opera Vs. Brave: the Fight for the Web3
Despite obstacles, Brave has been the undisputed king of crypto-browsers for quite some time. The browser runs on its own blockchain, with the BAT token serving as the foundation for an entire ecosystem. Now, Opera has announced its latest collaboration in order to stay ahead of the competition.
To publicise the collaboration, the team launched an official blog. It was stated,
"In the first quarter of 2022, Opera, the world's first browser with Web3 support and a built-in crypto wallet, will collaborate with Solana Labs to integrate the blockchain and support Solana dApps."
Users of Opera Android will now have seamless access to Solana dApps thanks to the integration. Simultaneously, they will benefit from low fees and quick transactions within the ecosystem.
It’s not surprising that the opera is interested in Solana. Since 2018, it has included Web3 support and a built-in crypto wallet in its browsers for both mobile and desktop. This is consistent with the established vision. It will be run with the goal of “removing the barriers associated with using web3 and crypto in order to make it more appealing and usable by a wider audience,” according to the blog.
As a result, the aforementioned collaboration removes the first barrier by making access to web3 a seamless experience that is available directly in the browser.
Austin Federa, Solana’s communication lead, emphasised the significance of the aforementioned development.
"This integration will provide tens of millions of new users with even more options for connecting to Solana, and will help to keep the open web dream alive and well." The mobile web3 revolution is just getting started, and Opera is helping to pave the way."
Aside from that, the Opera browser supports web3 and has wallets for Ethereum, Bitcoin, TRON, and Celo. It demonstrates the pro-crypto narrative from the developers of the Opera browser.
What is Solana’s significance?
Solana enables instantaneous finality and extremely low transaction fees of $0.00025. It also has a thriving ecosystem of dApps such as Serum, Raydium, Metaplex, Orca, Audius, and others.
Susie Batt, Opera’s Crypto Ecosystem Lead, stated:
“Solana’s goal is to introduce one billion people to cryptocurrency.” That is a goal we both share. No other browser company has been as forward-thinking about Web3 as Opera has been. We are very excited to be working together in the future.”
Aside from that, another project cast a vote of confidence in Solana.
Crowny, an app that rewards shoppers for various interactions with brands, previously displayed the same support. This explains why some people prefer Solana over Ethereum.
