Meta finally launches the NFT feature on Instagram worldwide

Meta announces the official launch of the NFT feature on Instagram after the completion of its testing phase for U.S creators. CEO Mark Zuckerberg shared that the NFT support will be available to over 100 countries from today onwards on Instagram.

Users from different regions including America, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific can now connect their wallets and share their NFTs via Insta Story, Insta Feed, and DMs with their followers.

Through this feature, Zuckerberg believes people will finally understand what NFTs are, and also give NFT holders a chance to show off their collectibles without any charges.

Meta has already introduced this feature on Facebook. With the official release on Instagram, the company will also add NFT support on Snapchat and Whatsapp in the coming months.

Meta also announced a partnership with Coinbase Wallet and Dapper Wallet to be accepted as third-party wallets. In other words, users with Rainbow, MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, and Dapper Wallet can now connect their wallets on Instagram.

Additionally, the social media platform currently only supports NFTs from Ethereum, Polygon, and Flow. Instagram plans to expand its reach on other blockchains in the near future.

CEO Zuckerberg also announced they might include NFT as an ad feature soon.
